Tag a thatched country cottage friend who would love this beauty in Grantchester, Cambridgeshire! It's a slightly chilly, foggy day in England this morning so this lovely shot by @simona.ladytraveller sums up the current mild weather well. But where is the snow?! ❄️⛄️ . Yesterday was the famous Grantchester Boxing Day barrel race! It's where four Grantchester village pubs pit against each other to see who can roll their beer barrels through the village the fastest. Sounds safe! Nearly a hundred Grantchester residents took part in the annual tradition this year, in what's probably the most creative way to burn off your Christmas pud. We’re a bit daft over here, eh? Ha! . Mind you, this place is said to have the world's highest concentration of Nobel Prize winners, most of these presumably being current or retired academics from the nearby University of Cambridge. And I do love that students and tourists often travel from Cambridge by punt to picnic in the meadows or take tea at The Orchard! Now that's a good idea this summer. You may also recognise "Grantchester" if you enjoy the telly series of the same name. . Have a lovely day...great shot by @simona.ladytraveller 🇬🇧 Want your Photos of Britain to be featured?
