Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. Choose your hard.
Last week at our conference we had the honor of having @msrachelhollis be our keynote speaker. She, of course, spoke tons of truth and inspiration but there’s only a few lines I actually put into the notes of my phone. Here they are- ▫️Why is it so hard? You ASKED for hard. You knew on the other side of hard was the life you always dreamed about. So stop complaining about hard. It’s what you signed up for.▫️ Do you dream of a life that you aren’t huffing and puffing just from sitting down or standing up? How about the life where you don’t have to tell your kids that mommy can’t because she’s too tired, too weak, too everything. I get it. Just look at me. I was carrying around almost two of me daily. Everything hurt. But mostly my mind. I was so damn mean to myself and stuck on everything being hard. It would be too hard to lose the weight. It was too hard to keep the weight. To be honest- I was choosing the wrong hard. The right hard was figuring out how to navigate my relationship with food. The right hard was finding the strength to push play every single day. The right hard was sharing some of the most painful and heartbreaking moments with all of you in hopes that it inspires you to transform your own life. The obesity numbers are astounding. The excuses are pitiful. You are so wildly capable and worthy of all of your own efforts and it doesn’t have to consume your life. You just have to want that life you dreamed of bad enough to go after the right hard.
